ERM² Platform

Jubilant's IPTV Solutions are based on the Jubilant ERM² Platform for Enterprise Rich edia Management, which is the management system for an IPTV solution.

Capabilities

ERM² provides a complete suite of management capabilities that are critical for a secure and reliable IPTV solution, and serves as the "command and control" center for both content producers as well as administrators.


  • Publishing: Announce upcoming events in a Program Guide

  • Event Management: keep track of scheduled and past events

  • Security: Access control and encryption for live events and Video-on-Demand assets

  • Content Management: Manage Video-on-Demand assets

  • Encoder Management: Configure, control, and monitor remote encoders

  • Search and Media Indexing: Extract intelligence from media content and enable a searchable Video-on-Demand Library

  • CDN Management: Configure enterprise and Internet based CDNs for live, rebroadcast and Video-on-Demand

  • Set Top Box Management: Configure and control Set Top Boxes for live, rebroadcast and Video-on-Demand

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor live streams

  • System Monitoring: Monitor network (multicast and QoS), encoder, Set Top Boxes, and Streaming Servers

  • Reporting: Who viewed what, where, when, how for live and Video-on-Demand assets

Multimedia Systems

ERM² controls and monitors all the multimedia systems required for an IPTV solution, described below.

  • Encoders: Capture, digitize and compress video into a variety of formats (MPEG-4/H.264, Windows Media)

  • Streaming Servers: Transmit compressed encoded video onto IP networks for both live and on-demand access

  • Presentation Systems: combine and synchronize videos with other presentation elements such as slides, electronic whiteboards, document cameras, imaging devices etc.

  • Set Top Boxes: networked appliance to decode compressed video on IP networks and output to a display device

Enterprise Integration

ERM² can leverage existing enterprise applications as well as existing network infrastructure to enable additional capabilities for IPTV. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Portals: Enable IPTV events to be published on corporate portals

  • Search engines: Enable searchable Video on Demand libraries
